Jason Castro of American Idol fame appeared at Park Lane recently for the Little Black Dress event sponsored by Q103.7 and Bromberg’s; proceeds from the charity event benefitting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. Jason is touring; his first major tour since “Idol” and readying for the release of his first major label release scheduled for early 2010.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama has raised millions to support research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. Our own Natalie Pilatos was the event planner; we supplied our signature Kathy G & Company cuisine and cocktails for tickets winners and their guests.
All pink decor let everyone know they were there to support efforts to cure this devastating disease and a great time was had by all.![IMG_3630[1] IMG_3630[1]](http://kathygcatering.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/img_36301.jpg?w=450&h=337)
If you don’t know Andy Hopper, our head wedding & event designer for Kathy G Designs, you just haven’t been looking. Andy is everywhere these days— and our Kathy G & Company design division, called Kathy G Design, is hopping from weddings to social affairs all over the state of Alabama. Andy is known for his dramatic use of fabric and texture to change a room or create a magical setting. He believes that color can completely change the room and the mood. He often uses lighting, especially candlelight as a design element. According to Andy, “every room and every person looks better in candlelight!” Here is one of Andy’s latest creations, perfect for the season.
Andy used chocolate brown fabric to drape the room at Park Lane, creating a soft, romantic ambience, perfect for a wedding, or anniversary. Calling the event Masquerade de Carnival, guests arrived to a red carpet style entrance complete with marquee and lights. Each floor of the Alabama featured a unique menu filled with the couple’s favorite things.
On the first floor, one of our massive vegetable and cheese displays with a beautiful Brie pinwheel and a Bleu Cheesecake with Pear Confit along with Cranberry Champagne Spritzers, perfect for fall.
On the second floor, guests enjoyed our movie theater concession bar with Mini Sliders, Mini Corn Dogs, Candied and Caramel Apples, Sweet Potato Chips and Parmesan Crisps served in mini cones, and a Trick or Treat Halloween candy bar with assorted candies in glass pedestal jars.![IMG_3627[1] IMG_3627[1]](http://kathygcatering.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/img_36271.jpg?w=450&h=337)

Frosty pinks paired with strong metallics: We love this look so much, we did a whole photo shoot for Alabama Weddings 2010 using this color theme!
Organics: Ocean, fern, sky, lake, tobacco, branch, forest, and ebony all take a cue from mother nature and offer many different options for a theme.

Fruits: Watermelon, mango, berry, pear, honeydew, and lemon offer lots of pairings and options, including a perfect color palette for a signature cocktail!
